It depends on the type of vaccine. Check yours here.
Some vaccines don't include any live material and you can donate straight away after having one. Other vaccines are made from live material, meaning you can give plasma right away but need to wait four weeks before donating blood or platelets. You’ll need to wait 2 weeks before donating anything if your vaccine was for Hepatitis B. Some vaccines mean waiting a bit longer. If you’re not sure what vaccine you received, you’ll need to wait two weeks before you can give plasma and 12 months before giving blood or platelets. Finally, if you aren’t sure about whether, or when, you can give blood after having a vaccination, contact us.
